Robin Hornstein, PhD

Psychotherapist • Life Coach

Robin has been a licensed psychologist and counselor for 39 years, specializing in treating eating disorders, anxiety, grief, life transitions and works closely with the LGBTQIA+ community. Prior to practicing, she completed a degree in early childhood education and taught young children. Earning a Master’s and Doctorate degrees in Counseling Psychology from Temple University, Robin spent many years serving clients in recovery before going into private practice. To fulfill her dream of contributing to the mental health of the Delaware Valley in a more significant way, she co-founded Hornstein, Platt and Associates (HPA), a multidisciplinary insurance-based behavioral health practice. Acting as the Clinical Director of HPA for 21 years, she focused on the development and supervision of hundreds of therapists to aid them in treating thousands of clients. Robin then sold HPA—at the time, the second largest practice in the Philadelphia market, which had been locally recognized as one of the largest queer-owned businesses in Philadelphia.

Robin continues to work in private practice and spends time counseling, providing life and health coaching, and writing. Robin has been widely featured, including in National Geographic, The Washington Post, Livestrong, and more. Robin identifies as a queer, cisgender, Jewish woman and is happily partnered and loves being a mom to two human children and a relentless cat named Nandor. Robin's favorite thing in the world is humor, which she brings into her work as a therapist and coach.
